Consider golf Training to Bring Your Game up to Par.

By: Jim Newell

Are you one of the 80% of golfers who never break 100? Thats correct; according to statistics fewer than 1 in 5 amateur golfers ever break 100! If you fall into the category of weekend golfer who plays with the same group of players, who hits about the same score every week, with an occasional par or maybe even a birdie in your round, who loses a couple of bucks at bingo, bango, bongo or a $2.00 Nassau bet, you could likely benefit from some kind of golf training. Many golfers can improve their golf swing just by going to the driving range, many more just end up practicing the same flawed golf swing until they get really good at it. These are the golfers who really need some sort of golf training aid or program in order to improve their golfing skills.

Golf; being a lifetime sport that is accessible to almost everyone is growing by leaps and bounds. People from all around the world are joining the sport partly due to the media attention paid to some of the super stars on the PGA, LPGA and other professional tours...stars like Michelle Wie, Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus. Of course not everyone can play like Michelle, Tiger or Jack. Most of us feel we are lucky to make par on a hole, let alone birdie or eagle.

However we can learn a valuable lesson by paying attention to how these super stars and most other serious golfers prepare for competition. Some people think that these super stars already have all of the knowledge of the golf swing that they need. Far from it, evidenced by the large and growing cadre of golf coaches and swing guru's that ply their trade with pro golfers. Check the bio's of people like Rick Smith, Chuck Harmon, Dave Pelz, David Leadbetter and others too see who they are working with, you may be surprised to find the names of many of the super stars you are interested in, some of these golf coaches even travel the tour with the pro's. If golfers of this caliber need to take lessons, and make use of swing coaches, it just makes sense that average golfers could also need help.

So what kind of instruction is available? Pick up any golf magazine or go to any of the golf superstores, go online, ask your golf course pro, you will be amazed at the variety or swing training aids, DVD or VHS lessons, books and other self help items you can find. The main question is do they work? Ask other golfers you know, they may have tried some of these items. Higher up the price scale are golf schools. There are more than 1000 golf schools listed online, in various golf magazines, they can be from half day to weeklong schools, and some include lodging and meals. They range in price from affordable to ridiculous. When searching for a golf school, check for what you can afford. Read the course syllabus to see what will be taught, look for smaller instructor to student ratios, and ask other golfers that may have gone what they gained. Finally do not overlook your local golf professional, these are golfers who have chosen to make golf course management and golf training their lifes work, many of them were amateur and/or college golf stars, some were or still are touring professionals. Ask around to find out who is really knowledgeable and good at giving instruction in your area. You will most likely find that one or two names come up more often than others. Schedule a lesson or a series of lessons.

Most importantly whatever method of golf training you choose, practice what you learn; if it does not work as well as you had hoped, try again, leaning is a lifelong experience. If you take the time to learn how to play the game and really improve your golf swing, you can look forward to many years of a satisfying sport, rather than years of frustration.

To start with a proven ball position. Moving a golf ball even two inches forward or back in your stance can make a great deal of difference in shot consistency. Start with the ball a couple of inches inside the left heel. After you master this consistent ball position, you can experiment with other ball positions. However, a ball too far to the front of your stance will increase the chances of a slice by encouraging an outside-to-inside swing. A ball too far back in the stance will make it difficult to get the clubface closed by impact and may cause a push or a push slice.

Tips On Hybrid Golf Club

Narrow Your Focus
Consistently making short putts is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. To help maintain concentration, find a blade of grass directly in front of the middle of the hole as you prepare to strike the putt. Don't look at the hole itself or the back of it, but simply try to roll the ball over the spot on the front of the hole. Using the front of the hole makes the target closer and makes your focus that much more specific.

Golf Balls That Match Your Skills

By Robert Thatcher

Any golfer knows the role of the golf balls in their plays. No matter how good a golfer is, if he is without golf balls then his skills have no value. Every golfer knows these facts. This is why golf balls had become the primary commodities among golfers.

There is no general way to determine which golf ball is best for individual players. This factor is almost entirely dependent on the golfers own preference, what he may do with the ball and how much will his pockets allow him.

For some, a single brand of golf ball says it all. They would stick to them for as long as they would want and most would never play if not playing with their particular brand of golf balls. Some people may call this insanity but this is an individual preference.

While a number of golfers may be practicing this, it is not thoroughly advisable to adopt this same attitude towards golf balls. The most ideal way of choosing balls is to use common sense, especially for beginning golfers.

A beginning golfer must never keep in mind what other people has to say about golf ball brands, may it be positive or negative. It must be pointed out that loosing balls for beginners is natural and this would mean that he need not focus yet on the quality or the brand name. What he needs is the low cost value the golf balls offer.

The best option for beginners is to buy golf balls sold in bulk, around 50 balls or so in a single bargain. These normally are balls that have been gathered from the greens and have been 'recycled'. Whats good with these used balls is that they are commonly branded (but that doesnt matter actually) and one need not grieve for having lost any of such balls. On the average, losing a golf ball is around a hundred percent for most beginners through sessions of hit practicing.

With upgrades in the skills come the upgrades on the ball qualities. But this still dont suggest that intermediate players should rush to nearby golfing supplies and buy the most expensive balls from there. The golfer must not compromise price for his level of skill.

The golf balls he buys next will depend on his skill level. If he has great tendencies on failing on hits, he still needs to stay put with cheap balls. But this is not to the extent of using the same used balls. This time buy new inexpensive balls.

If for instance the golfer usually miss-hit the balls, then the balata-covered balls is nor the most appropriate ball to choose. Scratch players on the other hand would most likely prefer the golf balls that would offer lesser spin and more control.

As the basic theories for golfing, and most sports in that case explain, the skill improves with the frequency of playing. With improvements on the golfers skills, he may result to trying new golf ball brands. Through this, he may determine what golf ball brands will suit him best. But this doesnt end here nor this factor decides what type of games the golfer may produce. He still have to reconsider other golfing components such as the golf clubs, the golf courses and other golfing accessories.

To develop a simple, comfortable and effective grip. Your grip is the foundation of your golf swing. Make sure your grip is comfortable. It is important to develop a neutral grip that requires no compensations during the swing. The orthodox position with the V.s of both hands (formed by the forefinger and the thumb) pointing between the chin and right shoulder is a good place to start. Very few good players have grips with the V.s pointing very far from this position. If you want a little stronger grip move the left hand over to the right a little.

To learn how variations of the grip affect ball flight. Experiment with slight variations of your grip. Observe how the changes affect the flight of the ball. A weak grip encourages a slice or fade. A strong grip encourages a hook or a draw. The V.s formed by the index finger and thumbs on both hands should point between the chin and right shoulder.

Choose The Right Golf Swing Trainer For Your Game

By: Trent

There is a golf swing trainer for for all your golf needs these days! Want a longer drive? They have one? Need to fix your slice...no problem. Want to improve your golf swing speed...here it is!

Don't get caught in the trap of buying training aids for every occasion. I know my garage has a few, but I called a BIG "timeout" on purchase of every golf infomercial swing trainer. Those commercials are done so well...they have you pulling out your wallet 5 minutes into it.

Pick The Swing Trainer For Your Fault

I know this sounds like a "no-brainer", but listen up! Make sure whatever golf trainer you pick, it really focuses on your swing fault. There are many trainers that say they can cure everything under the sun. Don't do it! Do your research and get one that solves "your problem.

Try Before You Buy

Yes...you can actually give some of these golf swing trainers a try before you buy. Many of the golf stores have returns. These are used training aids. Take it into one of those hitting bays and use it, then hit some balls. Even though you can't see ball flight, you can get an idea of its effectiveness right there on the spot.

Shop Around

Once you've picked the right one, get on the net and do some comparison shopping. You'll be amazed at how many sites sell it quite a bit cheaper than your local store. Just make sure with shipping added, it's a better deal than just driving down and buying it locally.

Use It

Now you've done your research...bought your new golf swing trainer...and have it in your possession. Use it regularly! Don't use it once and put it away! Use it until your swing fault is fixed. This could take many days or months to accomplish, but don't waste your money by using it once or twice and putting it in your "golf garage!"

Proper Sequence Is Key
There are many elements of impact that must come together to produce consistency, but the key lies in the sequence. From the top of the backswing, the legs and hips must initiate the downswing by moving toward the target, past their original position at address. This creates the proper tilt in the shoulders that allows the right arm to remain flexed at impact, while the left wrist becomes flat. Basically, a proper impact position is the result of a proper sequence of movements.

Your perfect golf swing is achievable

by Brent Bonnett

With the many factors that contribute to a successful golf swing, it can be a lifelong quest to achieve the perfect golf swing. But by breaking down golf swing components and addressing them individually, you can work towards a perfect golf swing and see improvements on the score card. Some of the basic areas to work on when trying to get to the perfect golf swing include grip, stance, ball position, alignment, flexibility, balance, and swing plane.

Your body limits how good your golf swing will be, so on your way to finding a perfect golf swing you will first need to reach an appropriate golf fitness level. The key to great golf fitness is flexibility. Flexibility will bring power to your golf swing and you will be able to increase your distance. Without being flexible, you will not be able to take a full golf swing, taking the club back far and finishing with a thorough follow-through. To improve flexibility, check out some easy golf exercises. Also, before each round of golf you should do some simple golf stretches to improve your flexibility and golf swing for the entire round.

The foundation of a perfect golf swing starts with your grip and stance. You want balance when it comes to your golf swing, and this begins with a solid stance. Your feet should be a little more than shoulders width apart. Your grip should be comfortable and not too tight. One sign that you may be gripping your golf club too tightly is if your hands begin to ache during your round or after you have finished playing.

Golf training aids are one way that many golfers work towards their perfect golf swing. Many easy to use golf training or teaching aids can be found online, such as golf impact indicators or golf swing trainers. Integrating equipment such as training aids into your golf practice routine will bring some great improvements to your golf swing and game on the course.

No matter how much you work on your perfect golf swing, if you arent using the right equipment you will always be hindered. Make sure you are using the right size golf clubs that have the right club shafts in them. Also, try and find a golf ball that is right for the type of golf game that you play.

Remember, you will never achieve the perfect golf swing without constant and dedicated practice. The best golfers spend countless hours on the driving range working on their golf swing. If you arent committed to spending the time necessary to work on your golf swing, you will never have the perfect golf swing for you.
